Annual Meeting

Each year, we convene and connect practitioners from across the West, helping participants identify common challenges and opportunities. By bringing leaders together and asking critical questions, we can develop comprehensive solutions and be more effective as a whole. Learn more about our upcoming and past Annual Meetings.

RVCC Connect Quarterly Calls

Across the West, expanding and improving efforts in forest restoration and the use of fire for ecological benefit is more necessary than ever. Knowing that people often learn best from their peers, we're excited to host our quarterly roundtable conversation between forest and fire coordinators and practitioners. This is an opportunity to compare notes, share experiences and make new connections with others working on these important issues in the West. While we aim for this to be an open and fluid discussion, we focus in on 1-3 relevant discussion topics during the roundtable discussion. Previous topics have included:

  • Responding to the wildfire season.

  • Community-based organization involvement in Great American Outdoors Act-funded project development.

  • Adapting to COVID-19 challenges related to virtual engagement, funding and fall/winter operations.

If you would like to join our next quarterly call, please email Emery Cowan.

Over the last few years, our working groups have convened regularly by phone/video, although some meet more regularly than others. Working groups are stood up for short-term planning following our Annual Meeting. A few of the working groups we’ve convened in the past include:

  • Policy working group

  • Recreation working group

  • Rangelands working group

  • Communications working group

If you are interested in participating in future working groups, please email rvcc[at]wallowaresources.org.
